Are you ready to get excited, get crazy, get LOUD!?
On November 16, pop sensation Rihanna will release her not-so-long-awaited (considering she just released an album not even a full year ago), but highly-anticipated fifth album, Loud.
Snippets of each of the set’s 11 tracks have made their way to the internet, giving fans a chance to preview Loud before they shell out the cash to buy it.
After releasing the dark but damn near close to masterpiece Rated R, Rihanna is going in a lighter direction for Loud, which made some fans (including us) nervous. We love care-free Rihanna as much as the next #RihannaNavy rep, but Rated R gave Rihanna a depth no other album could.
Loud is pumped up with dancey hooks and synths galore. The first single, “Only Girl (In The World)” and the raunchy, destined-to-be-a-smash “S&M” definitely showcase that, but the album as a whole is nowhere near as one-sided sonically. There are dreamy ballads (“California King (Bed)” “Fading”), smooth reggae-laced jams (“Man Down”), Beyonce-esque frantic club tunes (“Raining Men” featuring Nicki Minaj), and sexy bedroom-ready numbers (“Skin”).
In all, Loud has something for everyone and seems to have mixed what made Rihanna a star in the first place with what made Rated R such a critically acclaimed piece of work well.
Take a listen to the snippets below to see if you’re ready to get Loud or if you’ll remain quiet on Rihanna’s latest release:
